AFTER
I want to THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart for all your wonderful comments on the new sink in my last post!!! It's been ten days or so since it was installed and I have to say I haven't missed Mz.Orange one bit! Maybe I'm cold hearted but this shiny new stainless steel has me crazy in LOVE!
Hubby used to do the dishes all the time in the orange one... he said he didn't mind at all. Says it relaxes him while looking out the window.
Whatever.
Not me... doing dishes drives me insane. Always has.
And because we've lived without a dishwasher appliance for most of our married life it's been a good thing one of us doesn't mind the monotonous chore.
Remember how the old kitchen looked? I can hardly bring myself to look at the photos.
Those old windows.... how they used to ice up for most of the winter!!
Well, it's all gone away...
New windows, recessed lighting, new countertops, new sink and faucet, new cabinets, new stove and range hood and soon to be new flooring has replaced the old 50's nightmare!
There is a spot for a new stainless steel refridge. And a new ss steel dishwasher, but we are waiting a bit on those appliances due to finances!
That's the only bad part about remodeling a kitchen. Even with my diligent searches for good deals on the internet ( where I ordered my stove, range hood, sink and faucet) the money doesn't stretch that far.
I'll wait. For what good would a new kitchen be if we can't make the house payment?
More photos to come as we get the cabinet hardware on, new flooring and some finish work done.
....AND I need to dye my first pot of wool in the new kitchen... nervous... now where did I stash that roll of plastic?
Thank you again for your kind words in the comments friends! You are all sweet blessings!!

Beautiful. What a wonderful place to cook, do dishes and dye. So happy for both of you.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen looks like it belongs on a Kitchen magazine. Wow, what a change. You still have to be proud of that old Orange Sink, she made you famous.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your much deserved new kitchen you lucky babe.
Hugs,
JB

ReplyDeleteLove the new look, it is all coming together.
ReplyDeleteI like washing dishes, even though we have a dishwasher, I enjoy the warm water on my stiff joints;)
Debbie
how exciting for you it's all absolutely shiningly beautiful....when we remodeled our kitchen years ago I requested an utility sink area, it has been a good choice I can dye, splatter and not worry!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful transformation. Your orange sink reminds me of a screaming yellow my sister had. She just sent it to its reward a year ago. It was so yellow it made my teeth hurt! We used to joke about it all the time. A new space is always a way to redefine how you work in that space. Hope the new appliances you need will show up soon. Thanks for sharing. I need to do the same thing but not this year. Probably not next year either.
ReplyDeleteWow i wouldn't want to leave the room....so nice!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderfully beautiful your new kitchen is. It's like night and day. You deserve this new space after having to work in the old for so long. Oh--my--get out the plastic covers. Hubby has the horrors when I dye, so fearful of the granite counters, so I wait for his range days and do it when he's not around--lol.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new space.
Wow, wow, wow! It's beautiful, Cathy! I feel the same at about dishes, lol. Enjoy your new kitchen. Sarah
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Cathy!!... what a dream kitchen..enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteOh it is so pretty Cathy! I love how open and fresh it looks. I love the lighting too. You know the first 12 years we were married and I never had a dishwasher. I didn't mind, I liked it too.
ReplyDeleteI love your new windows.
I thought your orange sink was unique, but I really like your sink now. :) It is so pretty.
What a change Cathy!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you!
Just love it all!
The small window really opens up that space.
WOW! What a difference! So clean and bright!
ReplyDeleteBut maybe hang a small rug on the wall with some orange in it for remembrance.

ReplyDeleteMagnificent!!!! Looks like your kitchen is right out of a magazine! I love all the natural wood grain in the cabinets! Beautiful! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new kitchen, where food will taste better, cooking and dishwashing will be miraculously beautiful. But I agree - a mat is needed with the "orange sink". After all, it's your namesake and has carried you through all your posts - and this shared renovation experience. Waiting a bit for the appliances will extend the joy. When they arrive, they will be very much welcomed. I LOVE the new cabinetry too.
ReplyDeleteHeart of the home. It is just lovely. :)
