A Bit of News

I have good news! It is a bright sunny day here today! I walked out to the mailbox without a coat on and sandals! I've found the best way to get through these WI Springs is to completely ignore it! White stuff? What white stuff? Oh, you mean that pile of white stuff nearly covering the mailbox?

Smokey and Max are back in business too! Their paths in the backyard are shoveled once again and they don't seem to notice the white stuff either. Perhaps they don't even remember the green grass and the big rhubarb leaves they used to pee on at the edge of the garden! Heck, I barely remember them!

So my good news. I just found out a few minutes ago that the sixth student signed up for my class!
So there is going to be a class! A really honest to goodness class! I am ready! Well, knowing me I'll probably still be cutting wool and dreaming up a few more tidbits of information. I am trying to keep it simple though. Too much info. and not enough fun wouldn't make a good class in my estimation. So here goes! Here's to new beginnings! I couldn't have done this without all of your kind comments and encouragement! Like Tony's comment in my last post said, "build it and they will come!"   It's certainly renewed my faith in that old adage!

Class begins this Thurs. evening Feb 24th  6:00pm.  Students are still welcome to sign up.  You may contact WITC .  It's easy to register by calling 800-243-

  1. Hurray for the 6th student! So glad you have a class to share your knowledge and talent with.... but so sorry now you have to share all your wool with them too!!! LOL! The snow really will leave... one day... last Friday was the first I've seen my front lawn since Christmas!!! But, I did see it! :-)

  2. Yippee!! Oh, I'm so thrilled for you! I keep trying to think of a way to attend--all the way from MA! ;) You must keep us posted on the progress. I'm starting to consider the white stuff large garden ornaments! Kind of like a white topiary maze. Maybe if I spray paint it...

  3. Yay, so glad your class is a go Cathy! Have lots of fun!!

  4. Yippee!!! You will be fabulous and I swear if I were a few thousand kms closer, I'd be there. The sun is shining here and melting things so it's good and strong. I have a feeling we'll all be in our sandals before we know it. And I'll be practicing in Barbados so I can remember what they feel like.

Post lots of pics about the class. We'll all be watching from the sidelines.

  5. How wonderful! I'm so glad you can proceed, and I bet your class will be fabulous! You're so creative and "out of the box" with your hooking which is bound to imprint on your students. Go luck and have fun!!

  6. YAY for you!!! I know it will be an awesome class and can't wait to hear about it!

  7. Yeah! Yes! Woohoo! The students are gonna love Miss Cathy! So how long did it take for your piggies to thaw out after your walk to the mailbox? (I do the same thing!)

  8. Exciting news Cathy. I'm envious of your students - they are going to have so much fun and learn so much.
I am coping with the snow by imagining it is a field of sunflowers! Yes, I have a very active imagination LOL
Can't wait for a post class update!

  9. Cathy....

    Wishing you a great class.
Your students are sure lucky to have all of that enthusiasm from their teacher.
Enjoy the magic of that moment when a new hooker is born!

  10. Good for you Cathy - we all knew that you would get the sixth student. Hope your teaching experience is as good as mine have been. Lots of work but lots of rewards too. Most important is learning from your students and having fun!

  11. Woo hoo Cathy!!! I'm so glad your class is a go but I'm envious of those students. They will learn so much and just getting to touch all those luscious wools would be worth the price of the class.
We want to see LOTS of pictures.
    Hugs :)

  12. Yay!!!!!!! So glad you met your minimum ~ wait and see ~ there will be more!!

  13. Cathy, I had absolutely no doubt at all that your students would fill the class and just wait and see, you will be the talk of the town and things will snowball, no pun intended. You are so creative and your colors are so delicious. I'm so excited for you. You are just beginning dear friend. All the best and keep us posted. Hugs, Julia

  14. Cathy...your lucky students have no idea of what a wonderful adventure they are about to begin...here's hoping everyvody gets totally hooked like the rest of us!

  15. Hi Cathy,

Our snow had melted a few days ago, but winter returned last night with another 10 inches of snow! Will it ever be over??? It's a little hard to ignore!!!
