Wool Applique' Class Tomorrow June 1st!

Hello!
Yes I've been taking a small break from blogging in case you haven't noticed!
But things have been happening here in the studio!
I've been working on this little design for a class I am teaching tomorrow!
I'll be traveling to Chetek, WI ( about 20 minutes from home) to teach a
wool applique class for the Stitching Sisters Quilt Guild!
You perhaps remember that I was a vendor at their Quilt Show last summer!
Well they've been so kind to ask me back to teach a wool applique class!
I designed this little block ( it's 8 1/2 by 14 inches) for them.
Of course it's a red house!
I hope they like it!  There will be 13 lovely ladies attending and stitching away!!
I may be releasing this pattern for rug hooking also!
Stay tuned for that!
Well it's off to get a few last minute supplies packed
and then some shut eye before tomorrow!
I'll try to snap some photos if there's time!
Catch up with you all soon!!
Hugs!!

The Other Half of the Kitchen Remodel

When we decided to go ahead with our kitchen remodel a few months ago it was with the knowledge that only one side of the room would get new cabinets.  The other side of the galley style kitchen would keep the old cabinets on the bottom with a cosmetic update, namely paint and new hardware.
The counter top would also have to be replaced because of the hole the old cooktop left in it.

Last weekend hubby and I took on the project of building a new countertop and finishing it with new ceramic tile.  Something neither one of us had ever done!  Well, we accomplished the task but not without a few tense moments and a few disagreements on how it should be done.
Dave is examining the grout and leaving a finger print.... LOL!   I think we were both amazed the tile  actually turned out fairly decent.

After a new paint job and some new hardware I think it has come together rather well!

This week we will be waiting for our electrician to install a couple of recessed lights in the soffit over the cabinet and another outlet or two. You can never have too many electrical outlets in a kitchen!

Oh... that wall behind the counter... well I have an idea for that.  You'll have to stay tuned to see what it is!  I have been watching HGTV's Fixer Upper show for some ideas!  Do you watch Fixer Upper? It's my most favorite show to watch right now... much to hubby's dismay!  LOL!  There's always another project on the horizon!
